Session types and packages
A session type is what you run. A package is what clients buy.
Two simple ideas carry every count in TrainerSuite. Here is each one in plain words.
Session types
A session type is one kind of session, like 60-minute Personal Training, with its usual length and price per session. Your session types are what you sell, and every session and package uses one.
Start with the session you sell most, at your usual price, and add others later. Make a separate type only when the price, the length or how you count sessions is different.
Packages
A package is what a client buys: a number of sessions of one type, at a price. Enter the sessions and either the price per session or the total, and TrainerSuite keeps all three in step.
For example, a 10-session pack for $800 is $80 a session. Your clients see the price per session too.
Who can buy a package
Each package says who can buy it.
- Everyone: any client can buy it.
- Only the clients you pick: open the package and choose who can buy it.
- One client: a package made just for that client, from their page.
Sessions left, per session type
Sessions left is how many sessions a client still has, counted per session type. When a client pays for a pack, whether you record the payment or they pay your payment request, its sessions are added.
Sessions left goes down only when you confirm a session that counts, after it happens. Booking a session never uses one.
When a client owes
A client owes when they have used more sessions than they paid for. TrainerSuite never stops you booking for it: the extra sessions show as owed.
When they pay for more sessions of that type, those cover what they owe first. Owe 2, buy 10, and 8 are left.
Common questions
What is the difference between a session type and a package?
A session type is the session you run, with its usual length and price per session. A package is a number of sessions of one type that a client buys at a price.
How is the price per session worked out?
It is the pack price divided by its sessions. A 10-session pack for $800 is $80 a session.
Can I make a package for just one client?
Yes. A package can be for everyone, for only the clients you pick, or for one client only.
Does booking a session use one of their sessions?
No. Sessions left goes down only when you confirm a session that counts, after it happens.
